For 2014, I vow to stop blogging, facebooking, twittering, goodreadsing, pintresting, and whatnoting on a daily basis.
Why?
So I can write the novels I want to write. And see them published.
Social media is a major time such, even platform-building focuses social media endeavors. And, quite honestly, I don't see the merit in taking time away from actual writing to build a platform for writing that isn't published yet.
I've done it - this blog and facebook and twitter and even pintrest in the name of platform building - and I've done it well. Only, after all the dust settles, you have to decide what you really want to do with your writing - write a blog, twit, facebook, pin and gain followers?
Or write a novel?
For me, I want to write my next novel. And to do so, I can't sit at my computer and write unless its for that exact purpose.
I'm even going as far as cancelling my internet. Save money AND keep distractions to a minimum.
How's that for preservence and determination!
;)
So, adieu for now, my dear friends. I'm diving in with both arms open wide.
How else can one catch their dreams?
